Does counting count?



From YourSwimBook four reasons why you should be counting your strokes in practice:

  1. Encourages better efficiency in the water

  2. Encourages better breakouts

  3. It keeps you focused on technique and form

  4. Becomes second nature after a while

I consider counting strokes essential when I train without a coach timing me. When it becomes impossible to work on the race pace, this is the most powerfull tool I can use.

And works well for all strokes and even for underwater kicking.
